The transfer saga regarding Paul Pogba to Manchester United is over. United finished a deal for the transfer while Pogba was vacationing in the US, and he is to be showcased as a United player before the start of the 2016-17 Premier League season.

Jose Mourinho wanted the deal concluded before the Community Shield clash against Leicester City.

Pogba decided to rejoin his former club exactly four years after his departure was confirmed by former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.

Pogba personally preferred a move to Real Madrid but his agent, Mino Raiola encouraged him to rejoin United. Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane was all optimistic to sign the young superstar, but they resigned as they were rather hesitant to match United's fee.

United supposedly agreed all personal terms with Raiola almost a month ago. The final negotiations with Juventus over Raiola's commission were agreed last week.

Mourinho has already made some big-name signings, having brought Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the club.

Mourinho confirmed his desires to strengthen four areas of the squad during his first press conference back in May.

"We made a nucleus of four priorities, four positions, priorities," he explained. "To give a certain balance to the squad, to give a certain push in terms of quality, and the qualities that I need, that I want, as we know especially with the ones with more vision."

Mourinho highlighted his desire to complete his fourth signing in before Manchester United's Premier League opener against Bournemouth.

"We are going to sign one more player that's for sure," Mourinho said ahead of Wayne Rooney's testimonial. "I don't want to speak about Paul because he's a Juventus player and I don't like other managers to speak about my players and I don't speak about their players."

"The reality is we’re going to sign one more player, the market closes, as you know, August 31. So, we have plenty of time to do that but I would like to do that before the Premier League starts."

Pogba, 23, can bring can make an explosive statement in the Premier League and help United recover from a subpar campaign after only finishing 5th place in the Premier League last season.
