Moussa Sissoko joins Tottenham Hotspur on a 5-year deal

French winger Moussa Sissoko has joined Tottenham Hotspur from Newcastle United, putting pen to paper on a five year deal.
Everton looked the favourites to land the 27-year-old, but a twist on transfer deadline day saw Spurs snatch the midfielder from the Merseyside club.
Sissoko has also attracted attention from La Liga giants Real Madrid, as club president Florentino Perez had his mind set to have the Frenchman at the heart Los Blancos midfield.
Coming from Toulouse's youth academy, Sissoko made his debut for the senior side in the 2007-08 season, where he made 36 appearances, scoring two goals.
The Midfielder ended his six-year stint with the club after he made a move to NewCastle United in the 2012-13 season.
From there Sissoko has grown to be one of the clubs most consistent performers. With the club he tallied 133 appearances, scoring on 12 occasions.
Now he has taken his talents to White Hart Lane. At 27 years-of-age, Sissoko is coming toward the end of his prime, however, he will still perform at a high level if his past is any indication.
The transfer itself will hurt Newcastle's chances to make it back to the Premier League, as they have let go one of their top players.
For Tottenham, however, bringing Sissoko to the club with strengthen the midfield, giving manager Mauricio Pochettino options for squad rotation as Spurs battle on multiple fronts in the upcoming season.
