Tottenham Hotspur winger Christian Eriksen has agreed on a contract extension that will keep him at White Hart Lane until the end of the 2019-2020 season.

According to Tom Collomosse of the Evening Standard, Eriksen was reported to be listed as a summer target for Serie A giants Juventus.

The Denmark International came to the North London club in 2013 from Ajax for £11.5 million, and from there he has proven himself to be a key player to manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Eriksen is one of Tottenham's most versatile attacking talents, netting six goals and providing 13 assists, the second highest tally among the league, via ESPNfc.us.

Via Squawka Football, there are only three players that created more chances in Europe's top five leagues than Eriksen last season.

Most chances created in Europe's top 5 leagues last season: 1. Mesut Özil (144) 2. Ryad Boudebouz (119) 3. Dimitri Payet (116) 4. Christian Eriksen (114) 5. Neymar (101)

An unexpected collapse late in the season saw the Lilywhites finish in third place, just one point behind inner-city rivals, Arsenal.

Surely the side will look for a better title challenge in 2016-17 season. Tottenham also want to be prepared to fight in their second season in the UEFA Champions Cup competition, after reaching the quarterfinals in the 2010-11 season.

At 24 years old, Eriksen will continue to get better under the tutelage of Mauricio Pochettino.

Nevertheless, the fans will be pleased to see one of their star players commit to the future of their club. Coming into the new season, Spurs will be battling on multiple fronts, so the star players will need to step forward.
